Richard Launder - Chairman
After training as an Industrial Chemist, Richard has spent nearly 40 years in the IT industry. His early career was as a programmer / analyst and then sales, working for Olivetti, IBM and ICL, mainly with the Banking Industry. He joined Tandem Computers in 1983 where he moved into management. In his late 30s he became Sales Director at Tandem Computers UK subsidiary.
In 1989 he joined ACI Worldwide, a software house that provides solutions for the Payments Industry, as President of EMEA. He left ACI in 1997 and spent several years working as a consultant. In July 2000 he was asked to return to ACI in the same role. During Richard’s time at ACI EMEA revenues grew from 15 million dollars to over 150 million dollars. For his last two years at ACI he ran the worldwide operation as President of Global Operations and was responsible for all of the group’s business, which was in excess of 400 million dollars. In this role he sat on a number of the subsidiary boards either as a director or chairman. During this time he was part of the management team who took the company through a management buy out and the subsequent flotation.
At the end of February 2009 Richard resigned from ACI, and now in addition to his role as Chairman of Lusis Payments and board member of Lusis, has taken up a number of board positions with software houses based in the UK, Italy, India, and France, that are mainly in the payments industry.
Erroll Williamson - Director Implementation Services
Erroll has over 30 years of experience working in financial services and software industries. The first part of his career was spent in New Zealand at one of the big four banks, working his way through the ranks in the retail side of the business before joining IT and setting up an EFTPOS switch for the Bank. In mid 1990 he joined ACI and has served in a variety of roles in senior positions. Most notably he was the Vice President of Software and Services in both Europe, Middle East and Africa as well as Asia Pacific with primary responsibility for all implementation services, project management and support functions within those regions. One of his major achievements was the implementation of newly created software into the World’s largest payment system in 2004. Erroll brings to Lusis Payments a tremendous wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of implementation into Payments organisations.
Steve Wright - Managing Director
Steve has spent almost 30 years in the IT industry (he can actually remember when it was called Data Processing). Of this, well over twenty have been in the financial services sector, the majority in retail banking and payments.
His career has spanned a range of companies of all sizes including Xerox, ICL/Fujitsu, a start up dotcom company and ACI Worldwide, where he had two periods of employment. The most recent of these was from 2000 until mid 2009. During this time at ACI he spent over three years as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and another three as President of the EMEA channel.
Throughout his term in these senior roles Steve oversaw and was part of a management team that grew revenues from below $30 million to in excess of $180 million. In addition, Steve was a board member of a number of the ACI’s subsidiaries across the EMEA territory. With strong experience of planning and delivering growth at the same time as maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, Steve brings the know-how required to develop and drive the next phase of Lusis’ development.
